Kenilworth Country Cabins (KCC) Top Gun Firefighters proudly participated in the 2024 Queensland Variety Bash, raising an impressive $30,000 for Variety Children’s Charity.

This adventurous road trip was more than just a journey—it was a commitment to making a difference. Our team, decked out in the “Big Red,” a 1994 Japanese fire truck, raised an astounding $30,000 for Variety Children’s Charity—tripling our initial goal of $8,500! We couldn’t be prouder to have contributed to the $1.77 million raised during the event.

The Adventure of a Lifetime

Our KCC team, dressed in vibrant firefighter gear, embarked on the 2024 Queensland Variety Bash with a mission: to make a significant difference. This event isn’t just a road trip; it’s a unique and spirited adventure.

The Variety Bash is not your average road trip. It’s a wild, colorful, and heartwarming adventure that brings together some of the most creative and generous people you’ll ever meet. With party lights, a big stereo, and a spirit of fun, “Big Red” kept the crowds entertained as they traveled from town to town.

Our journey in the Variety Bash was nothing short of epic. From fundraising haircuts and street parties to fire hose wars, the KCC Top Gun Firefighters kept the spirit high and the fun flowing. The adventure took us to unique spots like Lightning Ridge and Charlotte Plains, where we joined in the mayhem and camaraderie that makes the Variety Bash so special.

Highlights from the Bash

  • Fundraising Success: We initially set a goal of $8,500 but ended up tripling that amount, thanks to the overwhelming support from our community and sponsors.
  • Award-Winning Team: The KCC team won the ‘Best Presented Car’ award, showcasing our fire truck “Big Red” in all its glory.
  • Unforgettable Moments: From lively street parties to exploring Lightning Ridge, the trip was filled with adventures that made every mile worthwhile.

A Community Effort

Raising $30,000 was no small feat, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support from our local Kenilworth community, Sunshine Coast businesses, and a range of private donors.
